On the upper reaches of the Ohi River (or Ohigawa) lies the tea-growing area of Kawane, representative, as it were, of the teas from Shizuoka, one of the most important tea-growing areas in Japan.
Kawane is located at an altitude of about 800m, with heavy mists in spring and refreshing coolness in summer, and is fed with water from the Japanese Southern Alps. An ideal scenario to grow tea of the highest quality. The tea from this area is characterized by a strong and intense flavor nuance.
