The fields where the tea plants of Kumamoto Soyo Sencha Premium thrive are located on the south side of Mount Aso, at an altitude of 500 to 800 meters. In the middle of the lush vegetation of the mountain runs the Gokasegawa River. Its water is so pure that it has been consistently awarded for its high water quality by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for the past six years.Organic through and through
The proximity to the river promotes the formation of warm morning haze that settles over the fields early and interacts with sunlight to create a unique environment. The haze, which protects the plants from UV rays especially in the early morning hours, promotes theanine content and thus flavorful sweetness, while the midday sunlight creates healthy catechins. In this ideal environment, the tea plants can grow and mature to excel in aroma and flavor after harvest. This tea is also grown purely organically and is free of pesticides, genetic engineering and artificial fertilizers.The nutrient-rich soil and pure water, both of which result in this distinctively clear flavor of Kumamoto Soyo Sencha Premium, have historical origins. Since time immemorial, the inhabitants of this region have held the connection to nature as a sacred good, as the oldest Shinto shrine in Japan is located here and, in animist tradition, protects the natural nature of the mountain and valley.
