Morimoto Sencha - Okumidori (organic)
Directly adjacent to the Morimoto family house are the plots where the two Morimotos grow the tea shrub varieties "Oku Midori" and "Oku Yutaka", which are mainly used for this tea.
The leaves are harvested in May and August and processed directly on the Morimoto family's own plants. A characteristic feature of Morimoto Sencha Oku Midori leaves is the selection of relatively firm leaves, which were damped relatively lightly (Asamushi). The result is a clear infusion, which brings out a rounded aroma even when a high infusion temperature is chosen. The majority of the leaves come from non-shaded cultivation (Roji Saibai), but leaves from shaded cultivation are also used. This underlines the pleasant sweetness of this tea.
After the second harvest, the Morimotos cut down their tea bushes completely. By rejuvenating the shrubs, the summer harvests also produce pleasantly mild and expressive green teas.
